"real people"

So this post is more for my older sis Britt than anything. But, we moved! Into her and Brent's house; they used to live here when they were in Provo and now we're renting it from them. Moving is always rough, but this one has been kind of fun. Prolly because I have lots of good memories here. Plus one of the reasons the Staley's had us move in is so we can make the house presentable for future buyers. AKA I've been able to make it look pretty and like an actual home. Here are some pics of what we've done so far.

Here is the living room:

The intertainment center and TV are probably the biggest aditions we got. After we bought em and got everything into the house (thanks Macsen and Jonny) Macsen announced "wow you guys are like real people now" never knew it took an entertainment center and big TV to become a real person. cool.

Oh wait, you want a better view?

The "laundry" room... I've seriously always wanted a room like this. makes me so happy!

It's looking pretty good so far. We're not quite done yet though. Just a few more things. More pictures to come. But we're loving it so far!

24

So John's been gone for the whole month of July due to Army ROTC camp. While he's been gone I've decided to honor his absence by watching one of his favorite TV shows, 24. I may or may not have watched 4+ season's in 4 weeks. Whatever no big deal. Anyways, while watching I've been compiling a list of why the show is so great... or not so great. Take it as you will.

1. Jack's voice: an obnoxiously loud whisper? Or is that really how he talks
2. Everything that could go wrong does, aaaand I'm pretty sure everyone is a suspect at one point
3. Talk about office romances
4. You can absolutely love a character and then end up hating him/her the very next episode. The opposite is also true
5. Most of the time the conflicts and problems Jack faces could be averted if he would just communicate
6. Not sure why Jack is always a suspect... every season. Even though he always turns out being right in the end.
7. Makes ya laugh makes ya cry, makes ya happy, makes ya angry
8. Let's talk about the creepy background music/noise. It's creepy.
9. I always try to guess who's going to die each season. Super fun.
10. Jack's phone is never on silent, even when he is trying to be ultra sneaky
11. I love the outdated technology in the older seasons. Me and my iPhone could take you all!
12. Every season has the one episode with silent beeps at the end. Totally adds to the story line.
13. CTU's cement walls and dark dingy interior; not only is it a life-threatening job, but the workplace sucks too.
14. Every season there's an episode that has Jack screaming d@#%'t as someone dies before he got to interrogate him/her.
15. Who's the traitor/mole in CTU gunna be this season?
16. Jack can work through anything, sometimes I almost even forget that he had his ribs cracked the episode before
17. Work places like CTU must have an incredibly high turn over rate. If I worked there I'd be stressing big time about my job security... Let alone saving the world
18. I guess a requirement for working for the government is that you can never get tired
19. Never knew our white house was filled with so many power hungry traitors
20. Jack always gets royally screwed in the end. Poor guy
21. Jacks kind of a player, how many girl friends does he have?
22. Work at CTU trumps all personal crisis, ailments, and family emergencies. Talk about a major time commitment
23. Never knew the president granted so many pardons
24. Everyone on the show seems to get ridiculously sweaty faces. Ever heard of a towel?
I will admit, there were times I got super into this show. Yelling at the TV even. So thank you Jack for keeping me company through my lonely days and nights.

Sneaky Ninja

I decided to start a blog. not quite sure why. I mean I'll prolly never update it on a regular basis. But it sounded really fun today. So here I go.

Once upon a time my job is really cool, but also suuuuper boring. I keep myself entertained by reading, watching hulu, and bugging my friends until they start texting me back. super fun. This morning a good friend @JordanHaws (I have no clue how blogs work so I'm mixing all my knowledge I've accumulated through twitter, instagram, etc. haha)told me about her new blog. So of course I read it to burn time. Then decided I wanted to make one too. To burn more time. Guess what I've been doing for the past 2 hours. Holy cow I don't get how people make their blogs all cute. I apologize for the poor quality of mine, but it's as good as it's gunna get. Suckit @BrittanyStaley and @LisaOgles and @NicoleGneiting and all you other people who have super cute blogs... mostly I'm just jealous haha. Anyways, Just a little more background and then onto the main event. Be excited! Um, yeah so my job is boring, and I work all-friggin-day on Mondays. yay. Lastly, my husband is gone for the ROTC for a month with no form of communication except through letters. not email. I'm talking old school write with a pen letters. cool. Actually I'll probably have a lot of fun with it. Thank you @BrookeSmith for some great ideas. Hopefully this blog will help me stay less-bored while he's gone. Ok sorry I get distracted but that's pretty much all you need to know.

MAIN EVENT:
As I mentioned I came into work today dreading it, then getting excited for the prospect of my new blog (also whenever I write "my new blog" in my head I think of jeopardy, the price is right, or some other similar TV show where they announce the prizes in that super corny/cheesy voice). I had started creating "my new blog" when in walks someone I had hoped I'd never see again. Gretchen. The graduate student who is interning with my Boss's Boss's Boss. perfect. See, about two weeks ago she came down to where I work with the Boss's Boss's Boss and introduced herself and said she would be spending some time down here with me this summer. Not sure if I just forgot about the encounter, or purposefully blocked it out of my memory. But here she was. yay. Luckily the week before I had spent one of the mornings organizing the office. So at least it was clean. I pulled her up a chair, the whole time my mind running a mile a minute trying to compile a list of different things I could talk to her about (yeah I really do that when I know I'm going to talk to people... I suck with words). At first things went pretty well. I was actually able to talk to her about my job and what I do for a good hour. Which if you knew about my job you would know how big of an accomplishment that is. I was very pleased with myself. We then got to talking about life, her job, her husband, her baby, my husband, how he's gone, then blogs.. and eventually silence. See Gretchen isn't the most talkative of people. and we all know I can talk people's ears off... yeah right. So I went back to "my new blog". Unfortunately all I wanted to write about was Gretchen... good thing I'm so sneaky sneaky. Yes I could be considered a creeper. Yes I snuck a picture of Gretchen without her knowing. Yes if you could see the computer screen clearly in the picture you would find that I'm blogging about Gretchen right in front of her. Seriously though, that's where she sat, just staring at me while I "worked". super fun. I love my job. Thank you Gretchen for making my day eventful.
